- October 5, 1931 – JSA to Hilda Loines –
“My dear Miss Loines:
Mr. Nixdorff has shown me a tax bill reading as follows:
Valuation – 530
Tax – $7.95 $3.08
Total – $8.03
Rate – .015
1 cent rate expires October 4th.
He has kindly offered to pay this without question, but in view of a long distance call that was made to him some time ago regarding the ownership of the land and the possibility that it has been transferred, I have suggested that he do not pay the bill until we hear further from you.
Hoping that you are enjoying the best of health, I remain.
Very sincerely yours, JS Apperson
