March 20, 1930 – Peter D. Kiernan (Albany) to JSA –
Dear Mr. Apperson:
I want to take this occasion to acknowledge your letter of the 19th inst., together with the clipping and copy of the law, which I read with a great deal of interest.
Ordinarily I notice that the meetings of these Legislative Committees are usually delayed. I was tied up at a meeting at one-thirty and did not get out until two o’clock; I immediately went up to the Finance Committee rooms, and found that the meeting was over.
I am very sorry, indeed, that I was unable to participate in the meeting, and I would be glad to know what the general situation is; will you be good enough to let me know?
I have known of you for a long time, and I sincerely hope that I will have the pleasure of meeting you in person in the near future.
Yours very truly,
Peter D. Kiernan
