PLAN AMUSEMENT PARK

Lake George to have Typical Coney Island Next Season

An amusement park similar to Coney Island but much smaller will be in operation at Lake George next summer, according to present plans. Reports are that J. E. Goodness, of Glen Falls, and E. E. Sabourin, of Lake George, have acquired control of a beach frontage of about 1,000 feet at the head of Lake George, through a purchase of twenty acres of land from the Griffin Lumber Company.

According to tentative plans, all forms of amusement including toboggan slides, dance hall, bathing facilities, stores and everything that goes to make up a complete park will be installed. The construction work is expected to be started soon and the opening of the park will take place June 1st.

The location of the site is but a short distance from the D&H station and within a short distance of the Oakland Grove Hotel.
