1911 – April 10 – JSA to David Fox

My dear Mr. Fox:
Your letter of the 7th received just in time. Am glad you were honest enough to notify me. However, you are bad at guessing as I don’t have troubles or mining schemes but would like to find out all I can about the Fairhaven Water Company located in the northern part of the Seward Peninsula, taking water from Lake Imuruk, about forty miles of ditch, etc. You are undoubtedly familiar with this hydraulic project: if not, you may be able to refer me to some other sources of information.

I am interested in an electric proposition in New Zealand and in Afghanistan but being interested in things of this kind is not unusual as there are lots of them coming up frequently and I wanted to see you more in a general way than about any specific case.

Will look forward to seeing you at the end of the week or whenever you find it convenient. The Ten Eyke at Albany is really the only decent place in this section and if you will advise me what train you are coming south on, I will join you in Troy if agreeable to you.

Sincerely yours,
JSA
