Dear John,
I am sending you enclosed all papers concerning you in the settlement of the estate. We have had a hard week’s work and I am glad that it is almost over with. We found everything in good shape and hope we have made a correct and proper settlement. I secured good notes secured by trust deeds for the girls and myself and I hope my selection will prove satisfactory and to their benefit. As to Sallie I selected such notes as I thought best for her and ones, which if it becomes necessary may be converted into cash without much trouble. I have not told her that however. I will be in Washington sometime next month and will run up to Baltimore and see her. What you say about their condition is certainly unfortunate and I sent her a check for $100.00 as soon as I got your letter. I agree with you that we may have to do something for them and I am perfectly willing to do my part. Lets not be too fast about it, however, and Carlton may find a way himself. I will write you more on the subject after I see them.
Your broth–er Hull
