Dear Mr. Apperson,
Your very welcome letter was duly received and I sincerely thank you for the interest you are taking in our son, Leslie. I shall be vary glad if he can be with Howard instead of going away to some other distant place among entire strangers. I have hoped he would be entirely [better?] and strong again by the first of September. Perhaps it would be possible to arrange for him to go back with the G. E. excursion that is to come to the Pan American Exposition August 31. I received word from Howard that the entire works was to be represented then and they would have until Tuesday event, September 3rd to return. I wrote him to be sure to invite you to come here and make this your abiding place during the time, and suggested that if your train arrives in [Buffalo?] Saturday morning at 7 a.m. you come right out here about 8 a.m. We would have breakfast waiting for you, you could rest a few hours, have an early dinner and go to Expo grounds for the afternoon and evening. Again, rest on Sunday if you liked or go to Expo in afternoon. Take in the trip to Niagara early Monday morning and spend afternoon at Expo and rest even, and so it would not be so tiring as to be on the go, all the time. Will be very happy to meet you and talk of the South and its many beautiful memories – I think your idea for Leslie an excellent one – and hope a favorable time will soon come. Very sincerely yours,
Annie L. Hitchcock
