- April 5, 1928 – JSA to William Hill (Bolton) –
Dear Mr. Hill:
I am informed on good authority that J. Taylor, the State Forest Ranger, is circulating among the inhabitants of Bolton Landing and trying to incite bad feelings against me personally. If this is true, you will know why and also how much it will affect my actions. If you can do so without any special effort please learn what you can about the “rough stuff” they are talking about and just who, besides Taylor, is involved.
I will probably be up Friday night.
Cordially yours,
JSApperson
