  • April 12, 1930 – Giles S. Maxwell to Mr. F. C. Sherman (Lake George) –

Dear Mr. Sherman:

Sometime ago Mr. Apperson turned over to me correspondence you had with him in regard to stocking Lake George with salmon. I have obviously been delinquent in circulating this matter, it is now being circulated in accordance with the attached letter to the people given on the attachment list.

I am enclosing Mr. Apperson’s and my own contribution, and extending to you the hope you will be successful in carrying out our purpose.

Very truly yours,

Giles S. Maxwell

Note: Mr. Apperson has passed the attached correspondence over to me with the request that I circulate it as he is too busy grabbing land around Lake George for State Parks to handle it himself. Just why he picked on me is not quite clear, except that he is so sympathetic over the fact that I have never caught a fish of legal length in Lake George, and he hopes that will become so thick they will jump into the boat. Incidentally, this letter has reposed long enough on my desk for fingerlings to grow a legal catch, so if you are sympathetic to the cause, I suggest that you send a check to Mr. F. C. Sherman, Lake George, N.Y.

Very truly yours,

Giles S. Maxwell
