- June 17, 1931 (?) – JSA to Hon. Alfred E. Smith (Empire State Building)
Dear Governor:
Representatives from thirty or more organizations are having a luncheon at the Ten Eyck Thursday noon, June (?) just prior to the Public Hearing before Senator Brewster’s Committee on Conservation. A number of our representatives have urged me to invite you to join us for this luncheon. It would give great inspiration and pleasure if you could possibly join us without too much inconvenience to yourself. I have had not idea about this until I learned a few moments ago that you will be in Albany on this date which to us is truly important. It may decide the fate of Article VII, Section 7 which means so much to our State and which you have done so much work just to defend it.
Sincerely yours,
- S. Apperson
