- February 28, 1931 – Ellwood Rabenold to JSA –
My dear Apperson:
I wrote to Mr. Dapping yesterday, reporting upon the hearing and enclosing a copy of our printed brief.
This morning I have your note with copy of your letter to Dean Baker.
I also have a long letter from Lieutenant-Governor to which I have to reply. He expresses the opinion that we should support the Hewitt amendment “because of its many obvious advantages to the people of this State.’
This morning also I have a letter from Ottomar Van Norden asking me to send copies of the brief to Dean Graves of the Yale Forestry School, and to John Burnham and Wm. G. Greeley. This I have done. Mr. Van Norden speaks of getting the whole crowd together at a luncheon or evening meeting at which he would want me to present the brief as I did at the hearing.
I have written a letter to the Budget Director, as shown by the enclosed copy.
Very Sincerely,
Ellwood Rabenold
