- February 17, 1931 – Ellwood Rabenold to JSA –
My dear Mr. Apperson:
Thanks for your telegram received this morning.
I have a letter in this morning’s mail from Senator Fearon acknowledging my letter and stating that he has arranged with Senator Hewitt for a hearing on the Hewitt Amendment on Wednesday, February 25, at 2 P.M., and on the same day there will also be a hearing on Senator Brereton’s bill, Pr. 267, proposing an amendment to Section 7, Article VII of the Constitution in relation to the use of the forest preserve for recreation purposes.
I have written Senator Fearon asking if he might not add the so-called Baxter amendment, Senate Int. 814, for a hearing at the same time in connection with the Hewitt amendment.
If I can possibly arrange it I should like to spend Saturday in Albany, gathering official data for the hearing. Do you suppose you might meet me there I the morning so that we might work together?
Very sincerely,
Ellwood Rabenold
