- February 26, 1929 – JSA to William Hill –
Dear Mr. Hill:
I have just been informed by the Studebaker Company here that they have shipped to you by express today, a spring suitable for replacing the one broken on my car. I suppose it will be brought up on stage or truck and you will have it within a day or two.
I have in mind particularly the possibility that your garage may not be heated and I hope you will not work on the car where it may put you in bed. Anything you may do in respect to taking the car to a heated garage or turning the work over to someone else who you have confidence in will be entirely satisfactory to me.
Hoping you and your family are all well, and thanking you for what you have already done I remain,
Very truly yours,
JSApperson
